Help with 2001 stereo install

I've seached for hours, and i cant seem to find what will happen if you dont buy that box ( that makes the chimes for the lights and doors) what will happen. if i just buy the adaptors and and dash kit will it still be able to bump? or would it just be a pain in the butt?

You will lose the audible warning chimes and you will lose the 'retained accessory power' which keeps the stereo on after you turn the key off until you open a door. That's it, that's all, there ain't no more. :)

So i can just save $100, and just skip that box? whew! Is the anything special i need to hook it up with out the box? or do i need just the regular adaptors?

Regular adapters/harness is all you really need. Don't forget the antenna adapter though!

And your own 12v, I think switched but it could be constant.
