There's a small gray tube (~.15in [3.5mm] outside diameter) that runs from the front driver side of the intake manifold into the mass of wires and other cables etc.

I was changing my PCV valve and saw that it was snapped in half, so I quickly rigged it up with some duct tape until I can figure out how to properly repair it. . . anyway . . . what is this little guy, and is it safe to patch up with shrink-tube or the like?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

By the way, love this discussion board. I just swapped out my struts with some guidance I found around here.

Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking it's one of two hard plastic vacuum lines. I snapped the one your talking about when I did my LIM. I just got a piece of vacuum tube (actually windshield washer tube) that fit snugly over it and and made sure I got the tubes as close as possible inside it. So that it doesn't collapse under vacuum.
Where it goes I have no idea...

It goes to the rear valve cover. Its a real bugger to get seated back there properly because of the wires but if you have a long flat bladed screwdriver you can use it to gently push down on that part until it is seated in the hole.
