Its cake...all you do is take the cigerette adapter off the wires, there should be a black and red wire (and you know black is ground red is power) then take your dash trim off....then you can run it to the cigerette lighter wires if you want it on all the time, I didnt want that so i pulled my radio out and ran the wires back to the power and ground of the radio that way its not on all the time but it does come on when ever you turn the switch to accesory. I think thats clear enough, if not ask away....:D

Well you can do that or you can run the wires from the radar detector to a switch that you put anywhere and from the switch you can run one wire to ground and then run the other wire over to the fuse box and plug it to any fuse that comes on when you start the car.

Its done! I looked into doing it both way you guys suggested but it seemed to work better with less pain to do it into the radio, but the only problem with that is I had to splice into the power cables to be able to do it that way but it was still pretty easy thanks for your help!

Its not illegal in Ohio. I wired mine into my windshield wiper fuse as a power source and grounded it nearby the fuse box and it works well. I have it mounted (with the suction cups) over the right side of my rear view mirror, but it doesn't pick up nearly as well there as it did before in the middle of the windshield. But, I dont drive like crazy very often, and as long as the coiled wire going into the cig lighter isn't hangin across my dash, its fine with me!!
