I seen someone else post in the 2.4 section about how many 5 speeds are out there.

As I know I have one of very few 5 speeds around here, I'm wondering how many of us have 5 speeds compard to Auto's.

I've read of 3 or 4 others.

Thanks.

'93 GA Quad SOHC 5 speed here...a lot more fun to drive and better acceleration than the automatics...any tips on how difficult it is to replace a starter on this year? how long it takes? any tools other than a small ratchet set and and small wrenches? As a college student attending school out of state I don't have access to many other tools at the moment. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

95 2.3L Quad4 DOHC 5-speed. The only transmission for me is a manual. Gotta love em.

Ouch! I gotta make sure to get my fluid and filter replaced since the tranny is the only major thing staying in the engine bay. What's up with your tranny? Car down?

Syncro's are pretty messed up on 1st and 3rd. You can drive her but you can't race, she scratches the gears hard or misses the shift entirely if you speed shift. Driving normal will work pretty well though, I am seriously wondering if I can put an HO tranny on and get it rebuilt with a different gear ratio to compensate for the taller tires :) Oh and now I am hearing a "thunk" when I turn the wheel to the right and go over a bump. I hope its just the front right strut. This will finally give me an excuse to upgrade the suspension and get a new alignment.

Try the Redline MTL it's about 7.95 a quart and I know the Izusu only needs 1 quart I believe the Getrag's do as well. If you need help getting ahold of some, I can definetly get you taken care of ;)

So about 7 out of all the quads out there. No wonder I have parts guys ask me If I'm sure I have a stick.

I just tell them....well theres a peddle I have to push down before I move the stick in the middle or it dies.

Did you paint your rims yourself??
Looks pretty hot, I like how the outside lip is still silver.

that is actually the stock rim/color combo, now they have been squirted with a coat or 4 or paint since then but thats the way it looked from day one. This car has gone thru a lot of mods in my ownership, rims/suspension/motor/god knows how many stereos
I'll put up the other pics tonight of some of the other stuff

You can add two more to your count... I just sold a 1989 2.3 'D' code 5 speed car, I currently am driving a 1991 2.3 'A' code 5spd car.
