When you drive with a flat tire, how long does it take to become unrepairable?
I just ruined one of my tires and it's not patchable...
:(
I drive on the highway at 70-75 mph, the last two times I got a flat the sidewall of tire was trashed by the time I could stop

yeah, it depends on the speed when the tire goes flat. other than that, i would think that it was a few miles before you couldn't repair a tire anyway. if i get a flat, i just end up replacing the tire anyway.

Make sure that you didn't dent or bend any part of your wheel.

If a tire goes flat, you can bet that the sidwall is damaged beyond being safe.

The rim is fine...I probably drove about 3 miles with it flat.
I now have to have a habit of checking all of my 4 tires before driving everytime.
Driving on a flat tire isn't recommended period , unless you can afford to replace the tire and it isn't already damaged stop and change it ... ;)

If they break the tire down to repair it and the inside has rubber chucks, shreads and dust inside of it you can pretty much kiss that tire good-bye. People still fix them and drive on them but it's not a wise choice seeing as the sidewall integrity has been compromised.

Definitely speed makes the difference.I had a slow leak in one of my old Nissans tires, and drove it flat at about ten MPH to the gas station.I didnt realize till later that thats a good way to trash a rim.If that happened today i would have changed the tire .

Got a new tire yesterday. I have the Fuzion HRi's and the shop told me they could not find any in stock anywhere because they are discontinued and I was like that can't be right. It was out of stock on tirerack.com also. I went to another shop and they had 3 in stock. They said they sell a lot of them and they get them everyday.
I really didn't want to mix tires....

Mixed tires = bad. Good job finding the correct tire! :)

I agree to a point, I run 3 Goodyear GPS tires and one Michellin I believe, or BFGoodrich, can't remember. The only reason was because I had a flat on the 4th Goodyear, was not repairable, and they no longer carried that tire, the Tread pattern and speed rating are the same on the mix and match tire  I still don't like it much

You do what you gotta do. But I'd avoid that situation if possible. :)
