Do they still have the same LIM problems that the V6s have?

The 4 cylinders don't even have an upper or lower intake manifold; they have a single manifold for intake.

All the 4 bangers in the grand ams were very reliable my twin cam has made it to 150,000 with no engine problems. And my Quad can take down any Grand am V6. Stock Vs. Stock of course

The autos did suck... especially when they were the 3 speed autos.

I really wished that a manual came with 99+ GAGT's. I love mine to death, but the slushbox is really getting old.

Since the car is aimed at mid level family buyers who want a sporty looking vehicle and not muscle car guys , i can see why .... ;)

The 4-speeds were reliable as hell though.

****, well that just sucks then. At least the new G6's have a 6-speed with the GTP and GXP models. Too bad it's too much work to stuff those engine/trans setups in a GAGT.

Wait, they're turbocharged now? They couldn't get more juice out of the superchargers?

The 2.2L Ecotec in my '03 GA is great. It's got almost 79K miles on it and still feels like new.
I have to agree with "The Trader", though. Get the 5-speed manual tranny. They're pretty rare, so
be prepared to either wait patiently or travel a few hundred miles, or a little of both. I was searching for
almost a year when I finally saw mine locally. You can check out my "Just bought a 5-spd 2.2L" thread here:

if you're interested in my gas mileage info.

Yep. They killed the SSsc at the end of the 2007 M/Y and are bringing it back as a SStc 2008.5. In addition to 260 Crank, it will also have no lift shift.
