My buddy really wants to drop a 3400 in my car. I wouldn't mind t either. I read the whole manual at 3400swap.com, but I planned on rebuilding the 3400 BEFORE I put it in franken car. I just wanted to know how many horses can the 4-T60E handle? The tranny has around 35k miles on it.

Yeah, the 99+ had the 4t45e. They can't handle much more than stock... I think 225 or so was their max 'recommended' horsepower without severely diminishing the life of the tranny. Don't quote me for accuracy, but I think it's around there.
The 4T60E, however, can take quite a bit.

Nope... '95 Grandy's had the 4-T60E 4 speed tranny... I would be putting the 3400 into Franken Car.

Your 4t60e should handle 3400 swap no prob.

Thanks Matt, but I planned I building it up. I don't want boost, but you would think that 4 speed can handle anything N/A I throw at it right? O And say would a set of S&S Headers fit in my Grandy then?

IIRC, the 4t60E will handle upwards of 250HP, you'll be fine no matter what internals you throw at your 3400.

Should be fine with any mods to a NA 3400... I doubt you're going to exceed the capabilities of that trans without boost or nitrous.
As for the headers... they will fit the engine, but not the car. One of V6 owners will have to chime in... not sure which road is easier for headers... cut/hack/weld 99+ 3400 headers or fabricate your own.

Yea I looked at it, and I am pretty sure there is no way I could fit them in there. I'll go the port and polish manifold route...
