i've seen some people change out the carpet oval inlay on the door; is there an easy way to do this. I was thinking of making a carbon fiber insert for the front doors...the back (i have a coupe) i wont change because they are leather.
p.s i have a 99 grand am se coupe

i dunno...i think thats how the coupes are just cuz theres no back doors and just a wall so there is just a stock leather piece

I'm pretty sure on your car the back panels are just plastic -they insert is simply molded into the panel on the coupes

ya i think your right...not leather its vinyl but the ones in the front door can be popped out if you take the whole door panel out?

the front ones are held in by clips that are molded into the door panel and melted over the insert. You can cut them off and then just use glue to reattach the clips after you are done -There is a step-by-step guide somewhere if you search for it.

CF is tricky you can attempt it but chances are it won't come out perfect. I would make it out of fiberglass first get it the shape/look you want then overlay 1 layer of CF as the last step. The hard part is laying the CF over a curved shape getting it just right so there are no wrinkles or air bubbles. CF isnt all that expensive though buy a small roll of it and experiment

im using this account now...its my old one that i forgot i already had....but anyway i was thinking cf fabric not actual cf and just upholstering the panels when i got them out. The warm weather has just got me amped about working on my car again
