All my stuff is wired to a switch box and then a set of wires going directly to the battery using terminal clips

Everything in mine is wired into the fuse panel, after I found a fuse that goes on and off with the car much like the remote wire on an amp.
My fuse box is a disaster, I have nearly 10 wires just laying all over each other :D, if someone else tried to work on my car they'd have a great time figuring out where everything goes, but I know where it all goes, I'll post a pic soon it's kind of funny.

May be a silly question, but how exactly do you go about wiring into the fuse panel? I would like to attempt this, but not sure how it's done (process). Maybe some pics to go along with it?
Also, would I need to run an inline fuse for the accessory I was trying to wire? Like for a radar detector; I know some have a fuse in the cig lighter adapter plug.
