ok so i got done rebiuling my 3100 and hooked all the sensors up and they all worked fine except for one. the speedometer when i accelerate wont go, its like it has no power. since it wont move the trans wont shift out of 1st gear. i tested the plug that goes inot the trans and that is ok but i dont know how to test the plug that goes into the computer (if that is even the problem). At first no check engine light came on when it was pluged in and even when it was out but when it was discinnected i got the Ani-Lock brake light but no check engine. when i drove it for a little bit the check engine light came on(the plug was plugged in) and i checked the code and got p0502 "low input voltage for speedometer". it worked fine before no wires got smashed or kinked.
-Thank you for any help! I can't find anyone who knows.

Sounds like the problem is confined to the VSS and its wiring between it and the PCM. I would test the wiring first - you will need the PCM pinout. If the wiring checks out, I would replace the VSS.

How did you 'test the plug'??

The VSS is under/behind the tranny, very difficult to get to; even it's connector is tough to reach.
About all you can do to 'test it' is to wiggle and see if it's tight.
If some oil got inside the connector (when it was disconnected), then that oil could now be acting as an insulator.

I would unplug, thoroughly clean, and then replug that connector.
Much more likely the problem is there where you were working (when you removed the engine-tranny unit) than at the PCM.

Thank you Rix and matt. i tested the plug by removing the right side tire and i could see it right there on the inside of the tranny on the firewall side. I did test the wires and found out when the engine was put in it got caught on a wiring harness that was not pulled back and riped 2 wires it was very hard to find but i did get it.
Thanks Alot!
