Ok... so im wanting to know how to change the color of your gauges... how exactly it is done and what size bulbs you need? I heard 194 and something else??? and also... The dome light has a 212-2 bulb in it... but then it has 2 other lights that are controlled by switches... anyone know the size?

idk the size of the small switch controlled lights but i would recommend not changing them. they give great light if you actually need to see something, i have red in all of mine except those two and it is plenty of red in the car. plus under the dash would need some lighting

The gauge colors can't be changed. It's a white bulb back there and red transparent film. To change the color you'll have to get a lighted overlay.

you dont have to get new gauges. if you use nail polish remover and are really careful, you can remove the red film and use translucent paint to paint the gauges whatever color you want. i have done this on prevous cars, and may consider doing it on this one. its just a real pita to recalibrate the needles after they have been off.

Check out Procarparts.com Thats where i got my Glow Gauges from. My Gauges have a choice of the color blue or green to choose from on a switch.

if you want to try a different route, leave the guages red and just change the color of the needles.
I pulled my needles, scraped the orange off the back with an Olfa knife, masked the front/sides of the needles and painted them red.
Looks really good with the red backlighting.

I think you misunderstood -
I have the stock black gauges, with red needles. (stock needles are orange)
no purchase necessary.

I have no idea why anyone would mess with the trademark Pontiac Red...
though a red EL panel would be interesting.

My bad I thought you were talking about the white faced gauges with different needles. Guess my brain didnt process all that.

on my 96 ga i had to get my cluster all rebuilt. they took off the yellow ugly needles and replaced them with bright orange. it makes a hell of a difference. now im thinking of going with glow gauges...but idk how to get them on.

You pull the glass, pull the needles making sure you know how to get them back on right, and put it over the original gauges.

you dont have to put them over the orgiinals... that just keeps the hazards the same color as they were. on my 01 elantra, i pulled the original gauges and replaced all the lights with red. so it was:
white face, blue el, red back lighting lemme see if i can find a pic with my hazards on at night:

how do those work... just lay them over top of the existing gauges or what ive never known anyone who has done it. ppl around here are stupid and think once you get exhaust and a system your car is "pimped out"...
