now I really did it!

Hi all
I was trying to see why one side of my display wouldn't work, and I wrangled around with it for a while and finally got the faceplate off, and now I have no display when I put it back on, but noticed when its off the the sun shines on it you can see it, about half lit up. But when I put my finger over the back of the display again it goes dark? I think I really f'd somthing up?
Any suggestions?

Well, I put it back together and no display!
That sucks....My 96 display went out years ago and I was
excited to have a display again. Should have left well enough
alone. Now I am back to nothing!!
