Where did you run your power wire through the firewall? It seems so tight to get to any grommets. Any info would help.

if you can get to the grommet from the inside of the car, you can run a solid piece of wire (coat hanger usually works) and then attach your power cable to the coat hanger and pull it back through. It's a lot easier than trying to push the cable through from the engine side in some cases.

I can't believe I didn't think of the coat hanger. I've installed a couple amps but they were on trucks and SUVs, so there was a lot more room in the engine compartment. I could reach the grommets and push them through.

Undo the clip under the junction box in the engine bay and pull it forward. You should see a grommet now. From inside the car remove the little plastic shield and poke a hole in the grommet slightly down and to the left from the steering column boot. Poke your wire into the grommet from inside the car and you should see it come out the engine bay. Super easy to run from there, and less awkward than a coat hanger.

Can you take a pic of that location? Thanks

Inside the car or outside? It does take a little muscle to get that clip under the hood. BTW it'll be a Razr pic because my camera's at home.

Both if possible. Camera phone pic will do better than no pic. The junction box is that the fuse box under the hood. Thanks.

Yeah, it's the box under the hood. If you feel beneath the box you can feel a clip. Pull that clip out and you can get at the grommet.

You'll have to remove your airbox BTW to get at the clip under the junction block, I couldn't get a pic.
