Because of the install that I'm working on, I need to buy a 4-channel amp to power my stock speakers. How much power can each speaker take before I blow them?

The reason why i'm asking is that I cannot afford to do what i'm planning and replace all my speakers.

you can get an amp as big as you want, but when you adjust your gains dont go to a level where your speakers distort.

before you look at doing this you need to know if you have a monsoon system. If so then you cant (IE shouldnt) amplify them, as they are a different ohm load.

The amplifier that I'm getting getting works on both 2-ohm and 4-ohm speakers. is that right?

i think monsoon speakers are 3 ohms, so yea you should be fine.

I wouldn't amp factory speakers, especially if you cannot afford to replace them if/when they blow.

^ +1 i still havent amped my aftermarkets because i dont have the money. i would get speakers first, then get the amp later. even just changing the HU will help you.

and yeah, if you have a monsoon system, do the monsoon amp bypass mod. i found out that my car came with something similar (not monsoon) and i had to splace a few wires.

personally i wouldnt amp stock speakers i would replace the speakers with new... the stocks most likely wont hold up to the setup your trying to have

Yeah replace the facotiry speakers before goign for an amp.
You might find you don't even care to amp the aftermarket speakers :)

Pretty much what everyone else has said, but the bottom line is that the cost of an amp isn't going to be worth the "improvement" in sound you'll get from amping your stock speakers. If you can't afford to replace them, then just leave them alone.
