Hi, I'm new here. I've been looking around on how to replace the rear deck speakers because mine are blown. Money is a bit tight, so I can't really buy a whole new system, although I might eventually. I have a 2001 Grand AM SE, it's the two door coupe. It has the Monsoon head unit, and I've read how much a pain it is to upgrade, or do anything with for that matter. Referring to this topic, it seems that I can just drop in any 6x9's and just use one set of wires?

Is correct? If I could just buy one set and drop em in, that'd be great. I don't need anything over the top, I just want the rattling to stop =P. Some guy even says that he put a sub off of the low set of wires? I'm guessing I'd need a new amp for that? I'm just thinking about future upgrades...
Thanks for any help!
EDIT: I just found this post on yahoo, is this as feasible as he says?
"With most after-market 6x9's, you can separate the wiring going to the mid/tweeter from the wires going to the woofer. If you look closely at the terminals you should see two small wires soldered to the terminals and running up through the rear of the speaker, through the middle of the magnet and to the tweeter pod. You'll have to cut these wires and connect them to the wires that connect to the tweeter in the stock harness. The wires that connect to the stock woofer can be connected directly to the new speaker terminals after the tweeter wires have been disconnected."
