I came across some 16x7 bonneville rims for cheap. Could not be any better since one of my hubcaps is broken. But anyways what the right size tires for them. I belive it is 225/50/R16?

Teh rims. I know it will look odd. But it's my car =P

...not quite. 99+ 16" wheels run 225/50r16, like you thought. You could probably go 215, but I don't know the sidewall ratio off the top of my head to keep the speedo correct with 16" wheels.

Stock size is 225/50/16 , you could use the 205s if you want something narrower .... ;)

205-55-16 and 225-50-16 are virtually the same tire. go find the tire size calc thing and type in the stock size tyre and compare differnt size 16" tires.

225-50-16 will work i had them on another gm car that had 16x7 rims they fit nice.

I figured he'd want the stock 16" size that came on the GA and probably the Bonne.

The Grand Am doesn't share tire sizes with the Bonneville. The larger Bonneville also runs a taller tire. For his 1999+, Will should run a 225/50R16, particularly on a 7" wide rim. The 205/55R16 will be a touch too narrow for the wide rims.

most if not all w-body cars that have a 16" tire run the 225-60-16

I had the other wheels like yours on my GA with 205's until 1 cracked. The 205 fits fine. You can run either, your choice. The 225/60-16 will not fit. I tried.

A 225/60/R16 will cause rubbing issues, but 225/50/R16 is the way to go. Why go narrower than a 225 anyway?
