So when i got my car the fog lights didnt work. So i figured i'd try out a way to get colder air into my engine bay. And i put in this airduct. I dont have any use for my fog lights anyway. Although they do look nice and what not. I just put the breather in there for shits and giggles, if i have it i felt i might as well use it. And disregard the front bumper with the crack. And all the dead bugs lol. I put a mesh in between the couplers so the bugs dont get into the engine bay and what not. I kinda got the idea from the whe the AMS evo turbo was. Also from carbuerated engines with the hood scoops. Let me know what you think.

I want it to fit right up into the intake cone so the air rushes right through without as much resistance but oh well. Maybe later.

Lol, well it's probably still better than the stock ram air set up lol

How's your night vision? Looks like you could use some new headlights or to fix them up.

I think you would have been better off making/getting a CAI the locates the filter inside the fender.

I basically did the same thing when I put in my WAI, but I like the foglights, so the duct on mine is right behind the corner of the lower grill opening :D

where did you guys get the ducts? at auto zone i was going to get one but their like $20 i think or more :S

Yea i got mine from autozone, its kinda expensive but oh well every 20 bucks adds up to my 5. so eventually i get 20 free. This weekend if i get the time im gonna drop the intake farther down like right behind the fog light. Other than that try looking for vaccum hoses somewhere? Maybe those are cheaper. idk.

I had mine like that at one time. it really picks up crap off the road and puts it right on your filter, also gets your engine bay dirty fast. I took mine off. didnt notice anygains or anything.
Got my amsoil filter and custom intake now.

I've had it on for a week now. Just got pics yesterday though. Havent had a problem with dirt yet on the filter or the engine bay. But ill give it some time and see. Not to start anything but what is your definition of "ram air" then?

I cleaned my cone 2 weeks ago, 4 whole pleats where basically just road debris. And that filter was new as of last July. Mine's sitting about 8" behind the foglight, just touching the fender liner.

look at the intake setups on 85+ corvettes or late model f-bodies, that would be ram air, with the TB facing forward with the filter directly infront of it, since the forward motion of the car is "ramming" the air into the filter and directly into the engine. It is impossible to have a "true" ram air in a GA without custom manifolds.

I did something simular with my '92 Z28. It had the split intake tube with two airfilters. I cut open the bottoms of the air boxes to run two 2" tubes to the dual K&N filters and then ran the tubes down behind the driving lights. The filters never got any wetter than a damp feeling when it poured but they did get rather dirty often.

I checked up on the filter today and its fine. I put the mesh in front of the intake. I had a few bugs but they were caught on the mesh. As for performance wise, the only thing i noticed was when i went faster then i should go so to speak. I got out to check the intake piping and manifolds. They were actually cold. So as for cold air I would imagine its bringing in more cold air. Because the manifolds and piping were cold to the touch.

Looks interesting... was it worth it?

It all depends on how you are as a person. I think putting the intake there was worth it because a little lower of a temp in the pipeing and manifolds. But others might be worried about dirt water etc... I like to have a little bit of uniqueness to my car something that sets it apart from others so for me its cool.
