Hey all, so ive been looking around the internet trying to find some aftermarket hoods to pickup for my gagt, ive only seen 2 diff kinds. the SD Grand Am Ram Air Hood, which is on pfyc.com and the Grand Am SC-T Style Ram Air Hood, both which are on pfyc... does anyone know of any other hood being made for our car.. i dont want the same damn hood everyones already got, if not it looks like me n my pops will be doing some custom fiberglass work or something. Any info is helpful and much appreciated, thanks in advance - Steve.

theres actually a bunch of hoods for our cars. theres the sd hood, sct hood, aed hood, rksport hood ( looks alot like sct hood), some gay ebay hood that has a ss scoop looking thing on it. and carbon fiber hood with a vent or without a vent. put some of those hoods in our search bar and im sure you will see some pics. i personally use a aed hood. looks great but hard to get one in the next 2 years

ive been thinking, might be a nice project me n the pops to do at our shop fab'ing our own custom hood, would prolly be pretty fun and nice looking, im just not all about driving around with a hood that ive seen like 6 other ga's in my area with haha.. originality is what makes a car sexy.. and ive seen some pretty nice ga's on here already which u guys rock! but im pretty good with 3D design so maybe ill tweak around on that and come up with a design. what do you guys think?

do they sell the ramair pieces for the work or do you mean go get ne of the hoods? the ws6 style kinda looks nice, just not sure yet if i want to go for a firebird look either lol. i might go with the whole sleek stock look (little things) and put it all under the hood haha it has a cai in the fenderwall alrdy but make it a sleeper that ppl go wtf?? when they lose.

What's wrong with the Kryptonite hood???

Mine's a tad bit different. It's a BW3 hood but almost identical.

I was actually aiming that at Big Joe :D

I love the hood. The scoop is outrageously high, 3 inches or so. IMO, I think it gives an aggressive look to my black GA. To each his own.

THe site I got mine from is no longer around. $500 at the time. I found another site that has mine, it's $466.

The Kryptonite hood on ebay is almost identical. Not much price difference.

Here's on that's 399 w/ free shipping

These hoods are kinda pricey (from $399 to $500) but I like them. Let us know what you go with.

i spoke to the scoop with my dad.. idk there all wierd and dont want me to put any sort of hood on it.. only time will tell, i also would like to know about the rain issue, bad good lol, i know having the cai in the fenderwall could possibly hurt but its pretty hard to get water in there driving.. unless you go through a nice sized puddle.

Blackhawk
05-10-2008, 03:32 PM
Even if the filter gets wet from a puddle the engine will sputter til the water is gone, the filter has to be submerged to really do anything. All you need to keep it safe from that scoop is a heat shield or filter sock, it's not really much worse than the ram air. I'd be more worried about the alt or corrosion personally.

you kno ...my buddy recently drve in the rain with his cai..he owns an integra..so its low anyway..dont kno how deep the puddle was..but sure nuff..hydrolocked..tore the engine down and more than one piston was actually bent..so def get a drycharger for your cai..ya never kno
