If you take out the stock airbox to install CAI, does the whole Ram Air thing become useless? Would you take off the whole ram air cover then?

Yeah it's useless, you take everything out except the 'pretty cover' that says ramair on it (you can even take that off if you want). Only way to semi-help it would just take the top of the airbox off and connect a cone up and lay it inside the bottom of the airbox.

Ok so if you take out the airbox but still leave the cover on, it won't suck in any air?
Which will be more effective? The semi-method you just mentioned or CAI down the fenderwall?

A true CAI (drawing from inside the fenderwell) is more effective because it draws in colder air. Colder air is more dense, therefore creating more HP.
This is the way I understand it. I could be wrong and if I am would someone please correct me.
