header-------catalic converter--------resonator-------muffler

I guess this is the diagram of stock set up, ------- being the pipe. If you install SLP, what parts from above do you replace? Also do you have to weld SLP?

well SLP is a whole exhaust system...meaning the muffler w/tip and tailpipe,i dunno if Borla or SLP come with resonators or not, theres a few people here that have them and that could answer that better then me....

The slp is a catback. it came with all the pipes, tips and muffler, plus the bolts and clamps. midas unbolted the stock pipe from the cat, then used a sawsall to cut it up to pull it out.he bolted the new 2.5 in pipe to the cat, clamps all the way back to the tips. no resonator.uses all stock hang points. took about 25 min and 50 bucks. it is said you can put it on yourself with some ramps and a saw. ITS LOUD.
i love it.
hope that helps

So you don't need stock catalic converter with SLP exhaust?

it connects to your factory catalytic cnverter...It just doesn't come with a resonator.

Ok then what do we mean by saying "SLP is cat-back" since we still need stock cat?

Because it goes from the catalytic converter back to the end of the car...so in simple terms, CAT-Back.
