I'm on summer break, my friend and I got bored tuesday afternoon, so what better to do than play with my car?

We made a trip to home depot and bought a section of dryer ventilation, the flexible kind that's shiny-silver in finish.

We also bought a metal "T" piece, and 2 scoops that would fit on the end of the dryer tubing.

We popped the hood open, and dropped a section of the tubing down between the two radiator fans, and ran that all the way to the "T" divider.

Then we removed both fog-lights and put a scoop on each one, attached to a 1 ft section of tubing and attached them to either side of the "T" divider and to the scoops. We also poked a hole in the bottom of the tubes right at the point where it meets the scoop for drainage purposes (water was collecting in the scoop), it works perfectly.

The single line running up to the engine runs onto a cold-air intake.

I have noticed a difference, definately in the sound of my engine, at high RPMs you can hear the car producing suction, and if you put your hand over the scoop and revv the engine, you can feel the suction.

Definately a noticeable difference.

Has anyone done anything like this before? I'm sure they offer something aftermarket, but I paid $15 for all materials, beat that price aftermarket.

Let me know what you think. I know it's completely insane, but the pictures will help make sense of it.

lol. i've actually thought of that but couldn't think of a cheap way to do it. did it help throughout the entire power band or just top end or low end?

I'm sure it helps all around, but the higher the RPM's the more you can hear and feel it.

The most noticeable thing for me is off the line when the car shifts from first into second, there is a nice little kick, a lot more noticeable than stock.

I will post pics ASAP I need to get my dads camera synced with my computer.

If you do not have a filter of some sort, you are messing up your engine. If you were yo suck up water for instance, you are pretty much done for with that engine.
