What are your guys options on putting lowering springs (1.6" drop) on a car with stock struts. Car is a 2002 Grand Am, So please let me know if u think i should get new struts or whats the potential bad things that can happen?

worst thing that can happen is you will wear out the stock strut fast and I mean really fast. I just installed sprint springs on my 05 and I replaced all the struts. I mean all the work you have to do to replace the springs, then a wheel aliment. why not to the struts too. It will save you money in the long run. Not saying that you have to use new struts, but its a really good idea.

How many miles on the current struts? They may be ready to be changed anyway.

Might as well get new front mounts/bearings while you're at it, they like to fail/crack/seize up.

I did lowering springs on stock struts. It was a mistake that resulted in a shitload of work overhauling the suspension a couple years later. A 2002 is already 6-7 years old... I would get new struts and mounts with the springs.
