Hi! i purchased a ram air hood today and it is functional. I was wondering if i need any hookups for the engine to make my ram air function with the hood? Or am i ready to go, since my car is a gt? Sorry if i sound dumb, but im new to modding my car.

I have a ram air gt also but not the hood. I was looking at a friends and yes there is a air box kind of thing that goes where the ram air vents on the hood are. At least it looked like it to me.

ram air is a marketing gimmick its not really functional unless you go around 100 mph everywhere

What do you mean by functional? Does it have some sort of ducting toward the air box or does it have open scoops?

It has the open scoops and im wondering if there anything i need for my engine to increase the ram air capability. tenspeed would you know anyone selling a GT bumper?

Any ram air modification (stock nostril location or hood) is a complete waste of time.

Get a CAI. Done.

I would say you are wasting your time trying to get that ram air down. It is just a gimmick to boost sales. Example compare the Se and Gt there is only a 5 hp diference from what I read. That is not to say the ram air hoods look nice. I would just buy a CAI they are prob $100-$200 depending on the brand and you would feel and hear a HP difference unless you just want the Ram air look.

the only thing that open hood scoops would benifit is maybe cooling the engine bay better

Yup, that's it. Heck, I took out my "ram air" ducting all together so the air would hit more of the engine and thus cool it a tad better - the same would go for the hood. Ram air....pfffft.
