Hi, I plan on tossing in a audio system in my car but I have a few questions about hooking up the head unit. First of all, I found the chime module I though I needed until I read that it isn't compatible with monsoon systems

is that just a typo or is there a different chime module I need?

Here is the head unit I plan on putting in my car for anyone who is curious

the main reason I want a clarion is because of the option to make the illumination of the head unit match the red in the car almost exact, I know a buddy that has a clarion deck and he likes it.

Now comes another noob question. If I get a dash kit, that head unit and the chime module will I have everything I need to hook the head unit up? Is the chime module the wiring harness errr what??

Also I am getting a 12'' jl audio w6, w/ jl audio 500/1 amp, im not going to spl but rather sq any opinions on these subs?

Josh, are those for sq though? AudioQue and Image Dynamics make good sq subs, Dave or Chaun will have some other suggestions because they're around more than Duals and Kickers.

says who? i dont think anyone who knows would say that anything is WAY better than the w6. the biggest arguments against JL are (a) that they are overpriced, and (b) they are too mainstream. The quality of their products are rarely in question.

Now Ill say that the w6 and 500/1 are a great choice to give you a nice balance between SQ and SPL. At low volumes they are very tight and accurate, and high volumes they can get pretty loud.

Ill also say that Image Dynamics makes some great subs too.

since you are a self proclaimed newbie, Ill just inform you that how good your system sounds will depend 70% on the install and 30% on the equipment. a good sub in the wrong box will sound like poo, and an awesome amp tuned wrong will also be in the poo category.

EDIT: The Havoc line from ascendent audio strongly screams JL copy. those cones are like straight off the W6.

Yes that chime module will work with monsoon that is the one i have. the only other thing that you missed is the antanna adapter. other then that you are set. if you want a deck that matches the red in the ga Eclipse's decks have that option as well. Clarion is a good brand too though. My opinion on JL subs is that they are ok. lots of people swear by them, but I think they are over rated. don't get me wrong they are great quality equipment, but they just really weren't my cup of tea. listen to a bunch of different brands and choose that way, there are lots of great quality stuff out there.

Your radio also does not play 10min after the car shuts off either.
