Due to me being tight on funds, I figured it would be better to make my own short ram intake rather than buy one. With that said, what size (length and diameter) pipe would I need to buy from an auto parts store?

3" diameter, length depends on the length of your filter.

Just get a length of 3" pipe and cut to the length you need.
