keep rims nice - sealant

ok, my friend told me that before i put my new rims on, to put wax on them to keep the scratches off. does anyone else do this, and if so which kind of wax, and will it look ok on machined rims? btw i got asa jh9's and my stepdad picked em up and will be here at the house in a couple hours, but he sent me a pic :)

i heard that there's "wheel wax" but I never saw it in stores anywhere. with my rims being polished/powdercoated, I usually use regular wax on the powdercoated section to make it easier to clean.
