I am going to pull off my filter from my cold air intake form custom grand am. It is a K&N oiled filter i believe. I work at the local GM dealership and the mechanics told me that all i have to do is wash it lightly with soap and water let it dry completely then use i think ac delco super lube to oil it.....can i get your opinions is this ok? if not how should i go about doing this? do i need to buy the recharge kit?

thanks

The recharge kit would be optimal, and it's not very expensive.
Eh, not sure if I'd be putting Super Lube on it, but that's just me.

I have no idea what super lube is.

However I wouldn't use any old oil because anything too heavy will clog it up and may end up on your MAF sensor also.

Get the K&N kit its made to work with the filter I wouldnt just wash it with any old dish soap or oil it with ac delco oil

I agree with Greg. If you wash it with dish soap you'll strip away not only the dirt but all oils left behind and it may not allow reoiling to adhire to it well.
