I have a 2000 Grand Am GT1 that eats wheels bearing like mad. Now I've been told a smaller tire size will help this problem, but the sticker on the door says my car should have 225/50/16's, and when I bought it it came with 205/55/16's. What tire size, or tire combination, should I be running??

im no expert but i went out and looked at mine they are the factory size 225/50/16's mine ride good, goodyear assures. if you are going through alot of wheel bearings .it might be your wheels are bent maybe ? like i said tho im no expert...just wait you'll get a ton of responses from some great folks on here ,you'll love it here.:D
p.s. im thinking of upgrading my wheels and tires to 245/45/17 for summer and keeping factory for winter (if my wife will let me ) hehe

The tires you are running are actually a bit skinnier and a bit taller than stock. Shouldn't be a tire problem. Unless you have deep dish wheels, that are not stock and stick way out, maybe. If the bearings are actually going bad the wheel will wiggle when you jack it up. Or at least it should drone/whine or grind while you are driving. Or is the speed sensor just quitting on you? Is it all the bearings? Front or back? How many miles on the car?
I had 1 bad wheel bearing a few years ago, but have changed a bunch of bearings due to bad wheel sensors.
