hi i just purchased a 1997 grand am 2 door 4 cyl, and i want to lower it and i dont want to have to spend 200 dollars. does anyone know where i can get cheaper parts or if the suspension is interchangable with another car like a baretta or sunfire or a cavalier or anything. please help.

Is it that you just want to lower the car or is something wrong?

Because if you are looking to just lower it, then the best safest way would be to save money and get quality parts. I wouldnt dare look to cheaper parts for your suspension, its not safe, not just for you but others who share the road with you.

New springs will probably cost you around 200 if you can look around you may be able to get then for less. Mine were around 230.

I'm sure others will be better able to fill you in on this subject.
