hey everyone! i'm going to look at a 99 GT either today or tommorow, and i'm just wondering if there's anything specific that i should look for that might bring the price down more. Right now it's a 8,000 with 60k miles. Like, i know when my friend bought his Grand Prix, they're known for trunk leaks, console hinge breaks, brakes wear out, just to name a few. He got a couple hundred more knocked off the price because the trunk leaked, his console hinge was broke, and the brakes weren't in the best of conditions :) so, if anyone can help me out on this, it would greatly be appreciated! :D
i'm also wondering if there's anything specific i should look for as to not even BUY this car... it seems pretty cheap, even with 60k miles...

I got my 99 se for 6000, and it had 70k. Make sure you drive it first to test it out. Then look it over in and out. If there is anything wrong that you dont like, make them fix it for free before you buy it at that price. Id say make them fix it for free instead of just knocking off some money because of a problem.

thanks for the input, apple... i guess the car isn't back from the garage yet... it's getting new spark plugs and a new fuel filter put in... they said it would be ready to look at and drive today, but the guy that i got last night on the phone (not the original guy that i talked to) said it wouldn't be ready till monday now... i need a freaking car, i can't stand sitting at home... my dad's coming with me to check everything else out on the car.. make sure the water pump's ok, there's no anti-freeze in the oil, no leaks anywhere... but, my question is, he also said they were fixing something else on it, but i had never heard of it before, and was a dumbass for not writing it down... should i be worried that since i showed a great interest in this car (last wednesday) all of a sudden it went to the garage to get some shit fixed on it?? or, if everything on the car SEEMS ok, should i just get it (it's such a beauty...) and get the biggest warranty i can out of them??

You could always take it somewhere and have a dealer or shop check it over and make sure there isn't anything wrong with it. That's what I did. Also the first grand am I looked at we found out it had been in a flood and was rusted under neath badly.

hehe, i would LOVE your car Ram, but i can't afford that... i mean, after i went through yesterday, i should just say f*ck it and buy yours anyway... what's another year and a half on a loan, anyway? :P
well, what exactly happened is that like i said, the dealer that i got told me it had 60k miles and was in perfect shape. Well, the engine bay was dirty as all hell, the interior smelled horrible, the right passenger side door armrest was missing a huge chunk out of it (looked like some bit it or something) and the best thing of all, it actually had 83,431 miles... i was like, "i just had my friend drive me an hour and 15 mins. to come look at this thing, and you f*cking lied to me?!?" so, i came up with this little bargain that they weren't even gonna come close to accepting... i said, "you knock the price down to 6k, give me a 3 year warranty, 100% parts, 100% labor, and clean this thing and not make it not smell horribly, and you got yourself a deal" well... they didn't take kindly to that, so i just left... now, i'm looking at a 99' 4-door GT (i know, i don't like 4-doors, but it only has 33k miles!) for 9,500... but, that car has been on sale there for a LONGGGGG time (like at least a year) so i figure if i show some interest in it, maybe i can get it knocked down to around 8500... so, that's what i'm looking at now, sorry this is so long, but i had to vent about those c*cks odwn at Cap's Auto Sales in Old Forge, PA... :2up:

If you don't know exactly what to look for, you should take it to another dealership and have them look at it. They usually charge around 50 dollars but they'll spot out most things you won't notice. Plus requset a carfax report to see if it's been in any accidents.:)

try getting a loan through peoplefirst.com...if you can afford a $200-$225 payment for 60 months then you can afford my car.
Hell id even knock another $200 off the asking price if you were interested.
