Hey all! I just bought a 2002 Grand Am which I was told had a LIM leak at the seal. So, I bought the car for cheap, towed it back, and then spent 10 hours replacing the gasket. I thought it was going good, then I filled it up with Dexcool and in about 30 seconds, WITHOUT turning the car on, it started gushing coolant! It looked like it was not from the LIM but under it. Perhaps around the area of the exhaust manifold near the oxy sensor in the rear. Where could it be leaking from so fast? Especially without even turning the car on!

Maybe one of the heater hoses? That's about the only thing I can think of that's back there, I'd check around the thermostat as well, maybe you lost the O ring to the pipe that connects into there, or sometimes the screws going into the thermostat housing can strip the aluminum threads out of the LIM and not fully tighten.

I doubt it was one of the block drain plugs but you might want to check those as well if you can.

i would first check heater hoses like said above.(maybe you forgot to connect them??)
would be very strange for a 02 to have freeze plug issues
