I just got a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am a few months ago. I guess it's technically my first car. I found this website and I have some questions about the audio. The stock speakers in this car aren't as good as I what them to be. The back ones are the worst, they are really distorted. How many speakers are in the car? I am guessing there are 8. Which ones should I replace? and will a 4 CH after market stereo work in this car?
Thanks Alot,
Brian

there are only six speakers in the car if you have the monson system. if you do go with componets in the front 5.25 or 6.5 inch ones will fit. and you can either put new 6x9's in the rear or use componets there also. If you get your stuff from Crutchfield they will send you plates for the back speakers so you can put the componets in there. Yes a 4ch system will work in the GA.
good luck with every thing enjoy the GA and welcome.

I have a brand new 4 channel amp that im selling. It's 400 Watts and should be plenty for your speakers. Looking to get $50 shipped to your door. The thread can be found here

K if you have the monson you have tweeters in the sail panles 4 inch in each door I think there 4 inch and 6x9's in the back. you don't need adapters for the front doors you can mod the factory speaker houseings to fit 5.25 or 6.5s. thats what i did, one of the guys posted a how to on it can't remeber who but you should be able to find it under mod section in the forums.
your welcome
