I have a 2004 GA SE.. 30k miles.
There is a 2003 GA GT... about 56k miles. FS for... $8,500, something like that.
After everything, I bought my SE a few months ago for $11,300.
Both cars are in beautiful mint condition. I can speak for my car better and it's amazing. Was thinking... maybe I could go to the dealership and offer a swap, if the GT was good enough, I haven't test drove it.
Down the road I would want to convert my SE stuff to GT stuff so I was thinking why not save the money and hassle and just get the GT? Find out what they would give me as a trade in, get that price high enough and maybe make some money on the deal or something, somehow.

You'll lose your ass on that trade you'll be lucky to get 7k on a trade for the SE then you'll be a few thousand in the red. The GT is overpriced IMO so was the SE but you might as well keep it now you won't make money on the deal and they won't even trade you.

i had a 2004 SE.i traded it in for my current 2003 GT.it came with the SCT hood and spoiler, but i lost 4000 bucks.:(i love my GT of course, but now i owe an extra 4 grand and money is pretty tight now.i think if i could go back i would have kept my SE,plus it had 25,000 less KM on it.but i still love my car,it has just left me without much cash.in my opinion, keep the SE.:)

Stick with what you have. You'll definitely be way in the red, and you'll likely end up with a less economical car that's less reliable.

Do you have the Auto or the Standard? If you have the standard and prefer it, that's something you would lose as the GT's only came Auto and in 3400's. Also you will lose soem fuel efficiency and with prices heading the way they are I'd stick with the SE besides, there aren't that many differences! and yours is newer with fewer miles! Why trade in your 2004 for an older car with 20K more miles on it!!! there is 0% chance you would walk out with the GT AND Cash on top of it. You might however walk out with the GT and a lighter wallet though.

also not 100% with the 03 and the LIM
I know they "aparantly" fixed the LIM in 04, iv my 04 since 130k km and its at 165k km now and I havent seen the coolant level go down an inch, oil has never gone remotely milkshakey
think about it, new cars are the worst but even used as soon as we buy it its not worth nearly what we paid
I got my 04 with 135k km in the summer of 07 for $8900
I still see some orange 04 2 doors on autotrader in BC for over 11,000 with about 120-140k km, I saw an 03 with 140k for $12,900 was a dealership but still, thats a lot IMO, however prices out here on the westcoast are more than east in ontario thats for sure
rambling, i dont know, think about it before you jump
peace

Keep that low mileage, 30+ MPG ecotec. That's what everyone wishes they had.

IMHO:
$$ Saved by keeping your SE:$4000
$$ Spent on GT mods: Around $3000
Laughing at the insurance ,finance and oil companies with your custom built and paid off Ecotec 2004 GA GT:
Priceless :D

imo, keep the se just for one simple fact the car dealer is'nt there to not make money.. but 2nd reason like some mentioned before trick your low mileage ride, the way you want it .it would mean alot more to you that way,and a sense of ,,hey i built this:cool:
check out aftermarket body kits and that you would be suprised how far your bucks will go :P
if i did'nt have two crumb eaters and a wife that spends money like no
tomorrow i'd mod mine up

i say buy sik's car :) you cant beat the price, then you can swap your engine that already has low mileage. plus you'd be getting a one of a kind car for half as much as you'd lose

Save you SE and wait til its paid for all the way, if u trade it in and still owe money credit score will go down. Just pay that thing off and u will find that u wont want a GA anymore, u will want something differnt.
RazorDX, ur town Parkersburg was raising money for the town that I live half hour away from, the tornado the swept out most of their town i just wanna say thanks for helping those people by donating!
