Well I locked my car last night and went to sleep when I got up and was getting in my car to go to work i saw my deck on the ground, all my cd's gone and the $$ ( just change ) gone from my car..... They really didnt take much and i was wonding why they didnt take my deck cause they took the time to take it out of my car... I called my dad to tell him what happend and he said they prob dropped the deck and ran cause they heard him coming out of the house... So i can say i am lucky that they didnt take anything else or do any damage to my car.. Errr but it's just a big old piss off!!!!

You said they left the deck (radio/cd player or whatever you have I am guessing?) is it broke? can you put it back in and does it still work?
Glad everything is ok though, it could have been worse

If u got a CD burner on your pc.....make copies of your CD's and leave the originals at home. Better to have a bunch of CD-R's stolen than a bunch of discs that cost you upwards of $10 each!!!

That's a good idea to make CD-R's! Never thought of that one.

Yup...that way if they get scratched, lost or stolen....you've only invested a little time and about $.30 a CD-R

Sad thing is...the fine folks at the RIAA seem to feel you do not have a right to legally back up your music collection like one can with software. They even have protected audio CDs that stump burners and duplicators...

After my car got broke into 5 years ago, with a car alarm on it that they just cut the battery. I put a back up battery in there plus 2 interior piazzo sirens right behind the radio that will litterally damage your ears if your inside the car.
Just something to think about. Sorry for the loss.

About the CD-R suggestion, I do that myself. I don't carry any of my CD's with me just copies or compilation discs.

I feel for ya man.......
Last wednesday night I had mine broken into, the only night I think I have ever left my face on and they broke into the passenger side window and took my cd player. But the idiots left the sh*tload of change I had plus my 2 full cases of cds :???: and they didnt even try to get the speakers. My trunk was also popped open but luckily a couple days earlier I took my golf clubs out for no apparent reason, now THAT would have been some major $$$ loss  Worst part is that I live like on the best part of town  Got my window fixed the next day and getting my cd player tomorrow, total is coming to about $350 which wont be covered on insurance due to my $1000 deductible :( Plus the next day I couldnt drive since it was raining and I was suppose to go look at a car out of town and now that money going back into the GA it looks like I cant even buy the one I was gonna look at since it was gonna be a tight budget already...... hopefully the guy will understand and work something out :(

i've got all of you beat. after someone broke into my car. they took 350 cds, headunit, 6x9s, checkbook, wallet, and they even took the remote to my stereo. after that they went to 6 different walmarts on shopping sprees. they even bought themselves a new cd player, speakers, and an amp. but wait. it gets even worse. i was at a parking garage and my car was being watched by cameras. the security officers said they didn't keep those tapes for longer than 6 hrs. you want to talk about a kick in the nutsack and a punch to the kidneys at the same time. oh yeah, i only had liability insurance too.

this may sound a little mean, but does no one take there stuff in at night! i mean, its not that hard people. my sisters car got broken into twice, and she still leaves her stuff in there. i just dont get it, every night i take out my cd's, and take off my face plate. and then i leave the doors unlocked so if they want to get in go ahead, just dont brake the window...

So you're saying you prefer blowing up your own car then having a punk steal your radio?

Yeah, try to explain to your insurance company that you blew up the car so that your stereo wouldn't get stolen and see how long you stay out of the straight jacket :D

I can relate to the car getting broken into, but I think my story is even worse than matts. Went to school in the morning, got back from school and noticed that our Camaro was gone. I thought my husband might have gone out in it, but when I went upstairs he was still asleep. This happened in early Feb. We had gotten the car in Nov., spent about $300 fixing the interior since it needed a lot of work and had a stereo installed for $500 in late December. Talk about pissed off!! We eventually found the car, but the interior was gutted, stereo gone, steering column messed up, and all the wiring in the dash was screwed up. Still don"t have a stereo in it, spent about $400 fixing the important stuff (wiring and steering column), had to have the dash rewired, and still don"t have a stereo since my car just used up all our extra money by needing a new head gasket and a new radiator. :2up:
