Got my exhaust done this week, got a transverse Camaro style Magnaflow muffler installed, 2.25" piping from the cat back with the resonator removed, as well as my header installed. Got a great deal on the job and the shop that did it, did a really great job.

I had planned to have the pipes mounted flush with the bumper but after I went to bring em to the shop I realized they werent slash cut enough so I ended up getting them mounted straight out up and down. I like the look, removed my spoiler too temporarily to see if I liked it and I love the look with the new exhaust. Sounds great too, way nicer sound than the Flowy 80 I had on there, even with no resonator.

ANYWAYS....

I love the idea but the tips stick out too far IMO.

need a hacksaw? If you used straight tips instead of rolled you could of easily pulled it off.

how do you like the magnaflow? is that the fbody muffler? looks exactly like mine. do you have a sound clip, curious to hear how it sounds on the 2.4L

WAYYYYY too far out. Move them back or chop them off. Good set-up tho, very unique.

Didn't you remove the res? Or is that a glasspack I see?

Yes I admit they are out a bit far but I just wanted to make sure I didnt get a black bumper from them being in close, I WANTED slanted tips and to turn them sideways to flow with the bumper but orderedd these thinking they were more slanted then they are. Anyways needless to say, I still like it and yeah they stick out a bit far but I sort of elongates the car, especially with the spoiler off, and I like it.

And I did get the resonator taken out, no glasspack or nuten in its place, just the cat, with the header I bought off John. Sounds good, nice and mellow not as raspy or so much of a droan as my Flowy 80 was. Kind of ricey if I rev it in neutral but just normal ripping around sounds good, nice tone and not too loud.

Thanks guys, yeah I will probably keep it for a while, maybe the next time I ever have my car in to get any work done I will get them changed out.

Congratz on the unique mod. They look good in the third picture and that's how most people are going to be looking at them at shows.

If there was one factor that drove me CRAZY about the the later gens it would be those damn backup lights in the bumper! This is the perfect fix for that!

Well done my friend, well done.

Yeah thats what I was originally thinking TJ04GASE, for now though I dont mind the setup, they are nice Magnaflow rolled tips so at least they look good, agreed better further in the bumper and flush but none the less, I am not dissapointed.

Next mod is cam swap, going to do it this week or next week depending on work schedule, and then after that, fitting the LO 2.3 intake mani and 56mm TB on the engine.
