1996-1998 JSP Carbon Fiber hood

Just testing the waters as the sad reality may slowly be setting in for me

Up for POSSIBLE sale (as in, i'm looking to see who would like it) is my 1996-1998 AEDC JSP Carbon Fiber hood. This is a black-car specific item as I have the sides of the hood (either side of the hump) painted black, and the effect of the paint is that the black "fades" into the c/f. This paint was put on after I bought the hood (which is supposed to come clear-coated), so it may be able to be sanded off and just re-cleared, but I don't know anything about that for sure, so I cannot guarantee anything. This hood also has hood pins already installed on it, so you will get the mounting bolts needed. Alls you will have to do is drill the holes in the support beam for them. I will provide 12mp images of how they are mounted & measuring points so that you will line up with the same spot to drill

I will NOT ship this item. I WILL drive up to 4 hours from Rochester, NY to meet you to drop this off. You pay my gas to and from which would be cheaper than shipping it anyway

This sale is final. I will only accept money order or check (for the full amount agreed upon), either of which must clear before I pack it up to come meet you.

Other than the black paint, there is nothing wrong with this hood

I paid $600 for this hood + an additional $100 for the black paint

I am not putting a price out there, I will keep my "reserve" to myself, so I will say that best offer COULD take this kit. I do not mean to get people's hopes up, but I am getting to the breaking point, and the reality of parting out and forgetting about this car is coming up very soon. Please, only serious inquiries.

well, Ohio would be my "up to 4 hours" meeting distance which would only be about 7 for you... I don't have any sort of box, and I can't trust shipping companies to not honor ins claims if they damage said product, i'm sorry bro

yeah i work with ups/fedex/dhl/usps and the only one i would trust would be fedex with something like this if not freight because of the size. if no one wants claims it i will get it and make the trip cuz i wont see this thing be forgotten now they they don't make them anymore.

so i'm going to patrol this thread until it sells or until i have to grab the keys to my partents jeep and drive up there. would you need a stock replacement?

I mean I dunno how it works, but if you wanna pay fed ex freight to package it up, and completely insure it no matter what, i'll drop it off to where ever and have them ship it to ya... you'd just have to set everything up and send me a call tag I'd think

i work at a place called Goin Postal and we all packing and what not. i called one in new york and they said that they would make a box for it and all you have to do is drop off the hood and they will pack it and yellow will be able to pick it up from there. so all you have to do is drop it off.

but shipping is pretty steep for me and i don't know how much you are willing to go down. i don't want to low ball you but with the price of shipping i can't really go terribly high. but ygpm

Very interested, but unfortunately I dont have 400 to spend right now. And I know its worth every cent since you can only get em direct from JSP anymore and they go for 570 plus shipping I think. Ill have some spending money in about 3 weeks, but only about 100 - 200, and then most if not the rest 2 weeks following that. If you get desperate and would be willing to work out a payment plan type of thing let me know. Im not far from Rochester (bout an hour and a half) and naturally wouldnt ask for the hood til I paid you off. Let me know if thats something youd be willing to do...

Im also selling a couple things locally and I have an HO manifold for sale here so if that all works out I may have money for this sooner.

I dont care if you spend the money when I give it to ya, My problem is, I do the SAME thing lol. I have a hard time holding onto it. So if it were possible to give it to you and do receipts and such, thats probably my best bet. BUT, it is your deal, and if youd rather not, no problem. Ill do my best to hold onto it for a few weeks and not go spending it on everything I see lol and we'l keep in touch on it. Im reeeeaaaly really interested though so If I can come up with most or all of it soon, its mine lol.

Nope, lol Box wouldn't fit in my van so I took it out when I picked it up at JSP myself. You will definitely need a caravan (or other minivan) w/ no seats to get this (or truck w/ blankets). OR, take your stock hood off and drive up here with no hood on, and we'll put the jsp one on at my place. I when I drove to MI, I went without a hood and I contacted local and state authorities and there is no law against driving w/out a hood so you will be safe.
