Hey all,
This is my first post on this awesome forum,
Just purchased a 95 GA Coupe, 2.3L QUAD4 (DOHC I think), Red, with 165,000K on the odometer, and just wanted some guidance on this inquiry…..
My car seems to have the same kind issue that other GA’s like mine have where if the cars been sitting over night, once you start it up it has a very rough idle that will go away once you start driving it. Now I decided to see if there was a problem with the ignition so I removed the box, and around the black boots connecting the ignition to the plugs there was a small puddle (just enough to get the boots nicely coated but not like a flood of oil) of oil around 2 of the boots.
Now just making sure I don’t wreck anything (because I’m not like a licensed mechanic, just a tinkerer) I placed the boots back on and bolted up the ignition and car seems to be running the same as always.
Now:
1. How concerned should I be about the oil around the 2 boots?
2. Any suggestions on how to get this “morning sickness” rough idle
gone so it runs like a top again
3. And any extra tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated
Thank you for any and all help given offered, and looking forward to getting to be more acquainted with this impressive forum.
Thanks again,
ZERO
