I had this topic in the engone specific discussion but didn't to many replies.
How come i don't hear much about them here? They made a huge difference in my Eclipse. More than any other mod besides turbo or NOS. Plus they're pretty easy to install on the 3400 engine. Right now i just dropped a K & N filter in as i just got my car last week. But i see it as one of the best mods possible.
So has anyone done this or know someone that has? How was it? Wheres the best cost effecinet place to find a good set?:)

im guessing your talking about underdrive pulleys? ive heard from many different sources that it can reduce the life of some of your engine parts. but im prolly gonna do it anyway. hehe

oh and that made you sound like a ricer... and i guess i will clarify myself on that, because i know you'll just be like what?!! ok, first off, in that usage, its not nos, its nitrous. nos is a brand name, so if your talking about a mod, its nitrous. second off, if your saying that pulleys help more than any other mod beside turbo or nitrous, you obviously know nothing about modding a car. headers, heads, throttle body, intake manifold, cams, pistons (i could keep going) would all make more power than pulleys. and yes, each one of those alone would make more power.

Well NOS is what i had in my Eclipse so excuse me if i call it NOS.
And i never said pulleys were the best mod possible. If you read my thread before posting you will see i said it was one of the best mods i made on my Eclipse. Did i give you a list of mods i had done on my car? No. Geez, chill out man.

ok, sorry about the "best mod other than whatever" forgot you were talking mods you had done. but you still sound like ricer the way you used NOS in that sentence.

I'm waiting for the owner to get back and then i'm oredering the pulleys from http://www.fastfwdperformance.com/ud.htm
It's probably the cheapest mod you can get fo that price with that much performance. Everywhere i've searched says their pulleys are the best. Plus they have the dyno specs online, just not on our car.

the only thing i've ever heard about underdrive pulleys are the effect they have on your altenator. a mechanic friend of mine said something about the smaller pulley on the altenator makes it turn slower, therefore it doesn't put out the juice it should. but he told me that if i left off the altenator pulley i would be fine. i never did buy any though, so i don't know if there is any truth to what he said.
