All i hear are bad things on here. But are there any other ways to adjust the air/fuel ratios in the 3400 engine. If i could get 8-10 HP for 200 dollars i'd be very happy.

I know everyone here are ASE fans, and i see the benifits, but plugging in a modulater is way more convinent. So other than what you've heard, does anyone have real life experience with one?:)

I've got a Jet Module and I know some guys will slam them and others praise them but to be perfectly honest I haven't seen one dyno result saying that it works or doesn't work.

I do have track times with it on and with it off, but ETs can vary from one run to the next just because of your launch, temp drop, and how long it was between runs, so that in itself isn't accurate.
For what it's worth I see about a .1 to .2 sec gain with it on, but personally I would think pretty hard before spending $200.00 for one.

Is your car a manual or automatic?

So would you say it didn't feel like an extra 10 horses?

It's like yours, and auto.

I'm probably one of the most sceptical people you'll ever meet. I vary rarely will say I "feel" any gain as small as 10 hp because of years of experience. The one thing I do have to say about the Jet that I know for sure is my gas mileage went up with it on, so it's gotta be doing something.

Did it make a difference in shifting points? Would it rev higher and get rid of some lag time? Anything else you could tell me would be greatly appreciated. There's not to many decent mods you can get for 200 dollars.

Thanks!:)

I'm happy with my jet chip I mean for $200 what r u expecting. To get alot of HP u have 2 spend at least $500. my car is a 99 GA 2.4L and it does great. Not much on HP but a big improvement in torque. I use to rev only at 3000RPM now I shift at 5000RPM and in a 4 banger u need 2 rev high t get more power. Now in a V6 you don't need 2 rev that high.

I heard both stories and all I can say is that I'm happy with it and yes it does get rid of the delimiter.

I just want to get rid of the speed limiter and rev limiter. What chip should I get? Or is there a reprogramming module I could plug in? I have seen little hand held reprogramming devices used to take away stuff like this.

Well the Jet Chip i don't believe will get rid of your speed limiter, thats ASE's territory, their chip is i think around 300,that chip will improve everything with limiters and gas mileage i think.

The Jet Module on a 3.4 does not get rid of either.

This is right from the Jet Site:

"Does JET Performance remove the speed and rev limiters?
It depends on the specific vehicle. On most chips, we eliminate the top speed limiter. The rev limiter is raised when possible and is completely dependent on the application. The SCU 2000, available for 1996-2003 GM cars and trucks (see catalog for specific vehicles) allows the user to remove the top speed limit. It will also allow the user to calibrate the speedometer for any changes made in tire size and/or gear ratio."

The GA with a 3400 is not one of the vehicles it does it on.

Here is the module for the 99+ GAs with a 3.4

Not really :(

The wire to the TPS was simple enough, but getting the wires on the MAP sensor is a real PITA!!! There isn't much wire to work with and it's on top of the intake manifold so it's not easy to get to. Just take your time and make sure you have it hooked up to the MAP correctly. Oh...and don't bother with their connectors....I soldered mine after I heard about the problems other guys were having with the quick connectors they give you.

just a note....the MAP sensor is behind the intake manifold below the little black box with the vacum line attached to it. Some guys have hooked these wires to the MAF sensor and that's why they say they get very hard shifts

Now....most people will get SES lights if they follow the install instructions, I was one of them. They say to hook up the power wire to a switchable power source......Don't Do It!!!!

Hook the red wire to the + terminal of the fuse box under the hood and the - wire to the terminal on the same box and it'll work perfectly no matter if you forget to turn it off before you shut off the engine or not. You'll also be able to start the engine with it already on with no problem. The controller has an auto power off so it won't drain your battery if you forget to turn it off. That box is located on the drivers side right next to the fire wall. The terminals are outside the box at the bottom of it. They have a pretty big + and - on them and nuts so you can just uncap them and wrap the wires.

As far as running the wires through the firewall, theres a boot just above the gas pedal......that's the best place to do it.

The DHP isn't always an option for everyone. In my case, there isn't a DHP out for an SE yet. For someone with a car still under warranty it becomes a problem because after the reprogram you still need a case learn performed by a dealer. That pretty much will take care of your warranty or at least will cause you major headaches if something goes wrong and they try to pin it on the DHP. Price is also a consideration for a lot of people.......$200.00 for the Jet as opposed to $300.00 for the DHP, $50.00 for Flash Guard (which you'd be a fool not to get) $125.00 if you wanted to keep your old core, and then whatever the dealer charges you for a case learn.

Some people don't want to spend $350.00 for roughly 10HP and 10 lbs. of torque. (the DHP will get rid of your rev limiter, speed limiter, and a do a few more things so IMHO it's really not a bad price)
