Hey guys I need some advice. My LIM gasket went bad on my 99 GAGT w/ 120,000 miles on it. I am going to fix it myself and figure since im going to be tearing apart the motor I might as well replace the head gasket and valves as well. Im wondering if anyone would recommend replacing anything else or inspect anything else while im doing this. I have high mileage and since I am putting the effort into the motor I plan on keeping the car for a while and want to make sure this is the last time I have to tear down the motor. Thanks in advance for any help. ~Rob. :D

honestly, if your head gasket isnt leaking and your heads arnt warped there is no need to replace the head gasket, it could make things worse.
im not sure what else you could do at the same time but from what iv read there is no reason to do the head less its warped/leaking

normally, i would say dont mess with the head gaskets, but since you have 120,000 miles on the car, go for it if you have time and patience.

thanks thats what I figured too. I mean it has 120,000 miles and I want to do as much preventive maintenance before anything else goes. I want to do as much as I can without a total rebuild.

It's up to you but 120K isn't crap, these V6's will go 300K no problem and still run like a dream,if it hasn't blew in 120K it isn't going to,i'd leave it alone and just do your IMG's and call it a day..
