Every cold/warm air intake made for these cars does not include the little plastic POS so I'm assuming it is perfectly alright to not have it. I don't have it on my car, and I don't think it causes any problems.

They sell those exact tubings at Auto Zone for about 25 dollars along with generic air intake filters.
