SES light is because of an EVAP code, and misfires in cyl 3 and 6.. The injectors I think are shot..
It is kinda sad that 200k is a bragging right for our cars in this era.. She didn't put those miles on easily..
around 20k of those miles are pure stop and go city pizza delivery. 50k of those were in the wonderful hills of Pittsburgh. The we throw in the few years (the early years) of bracket racing at the local track.
Its only been the last 50k miles that have been the nice and easy 120 mile per day 90% highway commute.
I digress too, I bought a motorcycle last spring and so it's lessened the abuse some.. On the other hand I've put about 15,000 miles on the bike since I got it.
Maybe if I can quit dropping money into the bike I can give her a 200k rebuild.. maybe retire her to a bracket/show car. I wouldn't hold my breath though. :)
I wonder if GM would give me a free SC/T hood if I could make it to 250,000 miles..haha

GM should rebuild the engine for you for free if you get 250,000 miles out of a 3400...put you in a commercial or something lol

Someone at work asked me what the trick was to reach 200k in a GAGT.. I jokingly told him keep an inventory of brake pads and rotors and replace everything regularly and it will run forever..
Then I told him straight up, the 3400 is a lot more durable than people give it credit for.. Keep the oil changed and get rid of the dexcool and there's a chance it'll run forever.
At least its not like my old GA with a quad 4.. Because I so enjoyed chattering cams and a blown head gasket.. (not bouncing the rev limiter regularly had anything to do with it..:D) I still miss that car.
maybe I should shop around for another Gen 2 SE for a commuter car..

get rid of the dexcool.
so if i just got my radiator flushed, am I doing pretty good?

yes, as far as i know all you have to do is flush the system of dexcool and fill it with the green stuff. ive been thinking of doing it, but the coolant in my car is still clean so i dont see a point for me. besides i hear mixed reviews on dexcool anyway so im not sure.
