I need to have my lower intake mani gasket replaced. Just wondering how hard it is? How long it takes? and if anyone who reads this lives in NC around the Raleigh area and would like to possibly help? :D

Mine took 9 months, but I have ADD.

I imagine the right tools and parts and you could do it in 6 to 8 hours, for an average do-it-yourselfer. I'm below average, but I got mine running again with only a few hiccups.

if youve never done it before, it will be a challenge, but nothing too hard. ive done it twice now and had a hard time with putting the PS pump back on but the second time i slipped right on. youll learn how to finagle things in order for them to go back on. make sure you have the right tools though. i would say the only special tool you will need is universal sockets for the bolts for the PS pump. 12 or 13 mm i beleive

Gotcha, Tools arent a problem, unless theres any specialized GM tools needed. I'm a Mechanic so I can use our new state of the art shop at work anytime I need to. Just would like someone whose done this before with me possibly, or any tips yall might have learned/figured out from doing it yourselves....

LABEL EVERYTHING. i never did that before until i replaced my LIM, and going back together took half the time i spent getting it apart. only two hiccups i had after the repair was a vacuum line that wasn't seated right and squealed, and i put my new tensioner pulley (i broke the original during disassembly :D) on backwards, which then ground a donut into my block and sounded like my engine would explode at any second.

a lot of what i did while replacing the LIM was a new experience for me. i probably spent 12hrs on it. if (when) i have to do it again, i would be willing to bet i could have it done in 4-6hrs now that i know what i'm doing.

YES thats a must, use only the F/P perma dry steel base gaskets,,search the site the PN is here somewhere, take your time pay attention to detail and done right you'll never do it again.
