I have a ED EQHS Svc2ohm its a 12"..I bought 8 of these when they had them on sale, this is the last one I have...Just looking to get $30shipped for it...This is great for those of you who want some extra depth in your music with out having to take up your whole trunk or spend a ton on an amp..Very good sub at a very low price :)
Takes between 200-300rms with ease...
I would go with a 0.8-1cuft sealed or 1.3-1.5cuft ported tuned to 32hz

I believe its rubber...Honestly in a subwoofer its not gonna make that big a dif what the material is

i feel as though your wrong, as rubber surrounds last longer as then the sub is fluctuating in and out from use, the foam is liable to crack. i have also never seen rubber disentigrate but yet i have with foam. just my personal opinion thst rubber is better as a surround.

The cone is the piston, not the surround. of course it does depend, but the EFFECTIVE piston area is does not include the ENTIRE surround.
If you think about it, if a sub is excurting 28mm, the entire surround is not likewise excurting 28mm. Only the portion closest to and terminating against the cone would move the entire excursion distance. The further you move towards the outter diameter, the less the surround is moving in relation to sub excursion all the way out to the point where the surround mounts to the basket, which would have very little (almost no) movement as the cone moves in and out.
Also if your sub has cracked or disentigrated while in your vehicle, you should check your car for how the elements got into your vehicle and did that to your sub...LMK if you have any questions...
