Intake Manifold Air leak

Well i finaly went and got the gaskets for the UIM that i had powdercoated and put it on this weekend. Bad thing about it is i had a horrible air leak somewhere. So i took th dam thing off 3 times and tried fixing it, nothing worked so i tried putting the old one back on....NO LEAK. I was like WTF!!! I was soo pist so i said forget it im done messing with it, and i left the old on. It sounds like its comming from the back of the UIM but i cant tell for sure. All the hoses the i removed are hooked back up. I just cant tell UGH.:???:

Did the powder coating get on the mating surface for the gasket? If so, you may need to have the surface planed so that it is perfectly smooth and flat.

What year did the intake manifold come off of :???2: They changed through out the years. Not 100% sure on this but i think it's 99-00 and 01-05 cant be exchangable

It was off a 2001 Alero. Does that make a diff???
