i have a 99 se with a 3.4. where do i find the sticker that tells what code my car is so i can buy the correct piece?

hm... code? the basic build sticker is located under the spare tire cover.. hope thats what you were talking about :D

for a power steering pump.. you most likely have Variable effort steering.. look for code "NV7" on the sticker under the spare tire cover
