I brought my car in to the local super-reputable transmission shop to get the tranny fluid flushed. I had only had the fluid changed once 90,000 miles ago so I thought it was time for a flush.
Anyway, while they had the pan dropped, they installed a small $6.50 bracket to one of the servo apply pipes. Apparently they have a habit of backing out and starving the rest of the transmission for oil, and there's a bracket specifically made to prevent this pipe from backing out. The dude said mine was a little loose, but it hadn't failed.
They didn't charge any extra for it, besides the $6 for the part, so I'm not worried that I got scammed or anything. But I'm curious if anyone else has ever heard of this or had this part installed?
