Hey guys

I just picked up a bottle of touch-up paint at the dealership, thought they would charge an arm, was only 10 some bux with tax

I thought this colour was fusion orange, aparently here in canada the dealership calls it Sunburst Orange

When I bought the car there were a few spots that were touched up, the colour was really off, a lot lighter, from looking at the paint in this bottle however it seems to be a pretty good match, a much darker orange than you would think "sunburst" to be.

Anyway I have a few nicks on my hood, few elsewhere and this nice are below my door where a rock must have hit myself on the highway (one of those phantoms), its about an inch long and a half inch wide (its all black, i suppose from the prime?)

Im wondering how I should go about this, im planning on having it polished and waxed soon, should I do this before or after that?

Should I basically go at it, it has the pen and little brush, how many coats should I put on. There isnt any rust on the spots, should I apply this paint right to the spot without anything first, should they have a little coat of clear put on afterwards?

Any tips would be appreciated, did some searching but mostly people asking where to get the paint, thanks

peace
JP

i would lightly sand the area with 800-1000 grit then fill the chip with 1 to 2 coats or until the dab it alittel higher then the old paint then sand it down flush then polish. you dont need clear because the paint in the touch up bottles is a single stage acrylic and once polished it will be shinny. any question just hit me up
