hey everyone, I got a pair of GT Tals off of eBay. I have em on the GA and had em on there for a while now. I was wondering how you would be able to clear em. and pics of them already cleared and how they look at night too. Thanks

Its nice to be recommended by somebody. Here are the directions that I used.

Step-By-Step Instructions

1. Open trunk and remove the 4 screws that secure the taillight to the car.
2. Disconnect the power cable.
3. Using the flat-blade paint scraper, start at one end and carefully pry around the outside edge of the lens, where the two halves are secured. You will hear cracking sounds, however, as long as you take your time and be patient, you will eventually separate the two halves. It is best to start at the rounded bottom edge.
4. Once you have the two halves separated, simply remove the red reflective piece.
Place halves back together, clamping them to ensure a good seal. 5. Allow the silicone to dry for at least 12 hours.Install the new 3357 red bulbs.
6. Reinstall the taillight, ensuring that you reconnect the power cable

Pics of the finished product are on my car domain (http://www.cardomain.com/id/akalar327) page.

I have since then put 3157 red l.e.d.'s from adavanced auto parts in the tails. Very bright and look good.

The original instructions were actually written by Ryan Currie over at N-Body.net: http://www.n-body.net/tech/techdisplay.php?id=14

I hate seeing people take credits for something they didn't do...

Yes, and no. Yes cause you would only have to chance the rear bumper to allow the clearance for the rear Tail lights. and Do, cause there's not enough clearance. The 96-98 are the same as the 92-95s they only changed the body and the motor. Same frame style.

damn I can't write. it's late here in Fresno, Ca. I meant yes, you can fit em on. Just would have to change the rear fascia for it. and no you can't fit em on cause you would need the clearance for them, which the 96-98 GA Rear Fascias do now have.

i am sorry, but I don't know what a fascia is, please explain? thanks for all the help

He has the same first name but not the same last name. Ryan Currie is the one who wrote the original, he also owns N-Body.net and GrafxWerks.com. He's very involved on the N-Body scene and has earned every bit of credit he deserves.

They 92-95 tails don't have the reverse lights within the tail lights like the 96-98 do,youd have to do something to fix that.

So if i went to a junk yard and got some tailights from a 92-95 tail lights off a grand am will i be able to clear them and put them on my 97 GA? and can anyone clear up the no revverse lights on earlier models of the gA i find that hard to believe thanks for the help

you'd have to do some body work to the bumper to make them fit...nothing major...but still a decent amout of work...and the reverse lights on 92-95s are seperate in the middle of the bumper and the 96-98s are in the lights so u'd have to figure something out for that too...like mount reverse lights somewhere or rig them in the gt tails
