Ok I have a 95 z24 and when I have the wheels pointing straight ahead the engine rattles a little bit, but when I turn the steering wheel at all to either side the rattling stops. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

I'm thinking stearing linkage. When the wheel is straight so to speak. There is no binding or pressure on the parts that make up the stearing system on the car. Once you turn the weels you put a force or bind on the linkage stopping the rattle.

The same thing recently happened to m 94 GA Quad 4 HO.
The intake cam sprocket at the timing chain was the problem.
Here's a link to that discussion in this forum....

Thanks for all the input. I will probably bring it to a shop today and suggest the cam sprocket is the problem and see what he thinks. I will give an update as soon as I can. Thanks.
